G is for Goods

You haven't been to Cape Breton yet this summer!?

There is still lots of time to go and enjoy its trees, seas and the most magical shop in the most magical land, Salty Roses' in Ingonish.

Caityln Rose Purcell, dear friend and jewellery conjurer, has created an amazing roadside attraction to house her own work and that of friends and family. The shop is open until early fall so start planning your trip to CB now :)

The Society Inc. is a magical shop in Sydney Australia, that undergoes a metamorphosis every three months to offer a variety of shopping themes. The shops owner Sibella Court, has a paint line with Murobond and highlights her quarterly release of paint colors by clearing out the shop , using the new colors to repaint everything. The paint colors correspond to a theme (ie. Paper Whites, Trade Winds, Travellers & Magicians) and the shop is then stocked, with items collected by Sibella on her worldly journeys, bringing each theme to life.

Atelier Solarshop is an amazing contemporary concept space in Antwerp, Belguim. The space is utilized as an art gallery, studio space, and a temporary retail pop up shop.

Another clever shop doing what I want to do. KIOSK travels around the world and then sells unique items from their travel destinations. They have a KIOSK in Soho where they exhibit their wares and a smart online shop with the best product descriptions/rants.

At KIOSK we feature the things that generally go unnoticed, products that are the result of local aesthetics and needs. Our motivation is to give attention to these anonymous objects and support independent producers. Hopefully what we share encourages you to go out and meet and talk and learn and see and show.

Okay I just about lost my you-know-what when I came upon Supermarket Sarah, a relatively new online shop , in which a merchandise theme is selected and photographed against a wall, then posted online where you click the wall item to see more photos and perhaps purchase. So easy, so brilliant, I just may have to follow suit. The latest Supermarket Sarah wall was curated by Patternity, which is also a new favorite of mine, so many patterns! You'll want to paint lines on every monochrome item of clothing/surface you see!

Lost and Found now has an Etsy store! Also I am pretty sure I spotted this dress on Francis McDormand in Robert Altman's 1993 release Short Cuts

I am very lucky to have a friend like Caitlyn Purcell who's jewelry designs inspire and adorn me daily.
Before I met Caitlyn, I fell head over heels for her mountain rings which are available on her online shop.
Where did the inspiration to make these rings come from?

i love a mountain, any mountain. I grew up with a vision of smokey mountain in my eye each day. so special. overwhelming. exercising. inspiring. beautiful. alone. encompassing.
The ring just came, a mini. I am trying to translate my feelings of a profound mountain into something that anyone can wear and hold sacred....
