X is for eXhibition

Inspired by the ocean edges of Nova Scotia and the treasures brought in by the tides, Caitlyn Purcell has created jewellery that evokes salt water and its metamorphosing effects. Silver cast crab claws, bone beading, hand harvested crystal rings, beach coal broaches and seaweed-esque beading are the direct result of Purcell's beachcombing days. O is for Ocean

Oh my, I haven't been to the ocean since these photos were taken in December. But I'd rather reminisce with scenes from that sunny day on Conrad's Beach instead of venturing out to the coast to freeze...... speaking of beaches.......Caitlyn Purcell is having a show at the Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design March 4th -31st with her new jewellery line Beachcomber !

W is for Website

Last month Caitlyn Purcell and I collaborated in designing a web site for her fantastic jewellery. I really like the results: simple and modern, well structured and to the point.

I am very lucky to now be a mountain fingered lady and Caitlyn I can't believe how many people are asking me about the nail necklaces, it's amazing!

*I am still messing with the first page because on PCs there is a big ol' blue link box around the photo, I am still a beginner at web design which is a fun thing to be!

I am very lucky to have a friend like Caitlyn Purcell who's jewelry designs inspire and adorn me daily.

Before I met Caitlyn, I fell head over heels for her mountain rings which are available on her online shop.

Where did the inspiration to make these rings come from?

i love a mountain, any mountain. I grew up with a vision of smokey mountain in my eye each day. so special. overwhelming. exercising. inspiring. beautiful. alone. encompassing.
The ring just came, a mini. I am trying to translate my feelings of a profound mountain into something that anyone can wear and hold sacred....
