X is for Exhibition

I had an impromptu Easter in Sackville NB, and was lucky to catch "Our Protector" by John Haney which is on display for a month at a building whose name I did not catch, on Lorne St. The aluminum moose rack gilded with over 1000 sheets of 24 karat gold leaf was sent to Haney in Sackville for a few touchups after 4 months in The Rooms Gallery in St.John's Newfoundland. You can still spy some foot and fingerprints in the gold as well as faint lines of 'Janelle' etched on the piece. It was wonderful.

Y is for Yarn

Cardigan is the vision of Kate Jenkins and was set up in 2003 to fulfil her philosophy that anything can be created from yarn as long as it is made with love.

X is for eXhibition

From Feb 25th to April 3rd the Eyelevel Gallery Gottigen is holding the 4th Eyelevel Re-shelving Initiative. The gallery presents a collection of printed matter, book-works and artist multiples on a biennial basis to promote the work of emerging and established artists as well as replenish their great Bookstore collection. I haven't been by yet so I borrowed this photo from one of the Re-shelving contributors Conundrum Press.

Y is for Yarn

I thought that making a Granny Square blanket like the talented Sandra Juto (pictured above) would be great project for the winter, then I realized that I couldn't even crochet so I bought a nice blanket at the flea market instead.
